This Project consists of business concepts like Leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility both of which go hand in hand in application. Corporate Social Responsibility is implemented by leaders in an organization to achieve social and environmental goals for sustainability of the environment and betterment of the society. The key aim of Corporate Social Responsibility is to align these goals with the company goals and achieve sustainability at the same time which is the driving force for the success of any corporate organization. Initially it is required to explain the role of leaders in the application of this concept. This project goes deep into the concept of leadership and explains the types of leadership which the leaders implement in an organization and applying which style of leadership would prove fruitful in a situation. The findings are sourced from leadership literature which is used to find optimum methods of applying a style of leadership in a leader who would encourage and act on promoting Corporate Social Responsibility. It is concluded by mentioning how the amalgamation of leadership and corporate social Responsibility can be applied by using leadership literature and how managers can benefit from high level of scholarship and it is also suggested how the unification of leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility can promote enhancement of literature on both the topics and how it application aids the managers.
There are many factors outside of business which are influenced by organizations and their leaders which are critical to the sustainability of the society. These factors are necessary to be taken into account by the leaders of these organizations to initiate an effort to bring about a change in the scenario. It has a multidimensional aspect to it. The amalgamation of role of the leaders regarding corporate social responsibility and leadership literature will provide a dynamic insight on the role of leaders in taking charge. Leaders have to look beyond the corporate concerns like firm diversity and employee treatment to concentrate on rising concerns affecting the society and the environment like global warming and carbon emissions. Numerous empirical studies have to be conducted on the micro foundations of CSR to successfully ascertain the role of the leaders in corporate social responsibility.
